Ideal City
여기 불모의 땅이 있던 여의도를 개발하고 그 일각에 시민의 보금자리가 될 아담하고 현대적인 24동의 아파트들 세웠읍니다. 이는 오로지 우리 모두가 살기좋은 대 서울을 건설하려는 의욕과 협동의 결실이요 상징이라고 하겠읍니다. 한강변의 기적을 이룩하여 조국근대화 과업완수에 이바지하려는 우리의 줄기찬 노력은 이제 그 열매가 하나 하나 알차게 영글어 가고 있으며 이 아파트의 건립 또한 그 결실의 하나입니다. 앞으로 여의도는 명실공히 수도서울의 심장부로써 꿈과 정서가 깃든 이상도시로 건설되어 나갈것을 확신하며 이 곳이 입주자 여러분의 복되고 보람찬 삶의 터전이 되기를 기원하고 이 일을 위하여 성원하여 주시고 애써주신 모든분께 깊은 감사를 드립니다. 1971년 10월 서울특별시장 양 택 식
Here, by developing on area of a barren field of Yeouido, we have built 24 small and modern apartment buildings as homes for the citizens. This is the result and the symbol of our collaborative desire for building a salubrious Seoul. Our endless efforts for the modernisation of the country by realising the miracle of the Han river has gradually come to fruition, and the construction of the Yeouido Sibum Apartments is an important part of it. From now on, as the heart of Seoul, Yeouido will be developed as an ideal city full of dreams and emotions. I hope that this place will become a rich and solid living foundation for all the residents, and also want to sincerely thank all the people working hard to realise this project.
